Following the recent changes in resuscitation techniques the course will provide the participants with the knowledge and skills needed for early recognition of critical symptoms and treatment of critically ill infants and children. The teaching methods would be discussions, hands-on format, and scenario based to reinforce skills proficiency with focused on team effort. Participant’s needs to pass a multiple choice exam with a passing mark of not less than 84% and a skill proficiency exam.
The course deals with adult medical emergencies which participants are taught of the basic principles of first aid. It is designed to meet the needs of the participants such as early identification of crucial signs and symptoms that warrants quick action. Fist aid skills would include management of victims with burns, seizure, bleeding, fractures, drowning, diabetic emergencies and many more. Participants would be also train with safety precaution in providing first aid treatment, such as incident assessment, risk assessment, prevention of infection transmission through the use of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE’s), and activation of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Moreover, the course allows the participants to be capable of providing Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Management of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO), and dealing with victims with multiple injuries. A multiple choice evaluation exam will be utilized to test participant’s knowledge with a passing score of 80%.
The course follows the New 2010 guidelines in providing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for all ages. It is designed for rapid respond to life threatening emergencies, which includes plans for risk assessment and management, 1 rescuer CPR with or without AED, Two-rescuer or Team CPR with or without AED, and Relief of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO). This would also give the participants the capability to perform rescue breathing and deal with conscious and unconscious FBAO victims. After the training participants will be evaluated through skills testing and a multiple choice exam with a passing score of not less than 84%.
Provides the participants a clear understanding with the principles of electrocardiogram (ECG). Thus basic concepts will be reviewed such as the Anatomy and Conduction System of the heart, serving as the basis for ECG analysis and Interpretation. Normal and abnormal cardiac rhythm would be discussed with a concept map for its treatment. The course will use an actual ECG machine that would be place on a state-of-the-art training mannequin which will provide various heart rhythms for interpretation. In addition, participants will be familiarized with a variety of Emergency Cardiac Drugs and Antiarrhythmic Medication.
Intravenous Therapy (IVT) Course is designed to reinforced participants knowledge with regards to Intravenous (IV) routes infusion and blood withdrawal. It will be consisting of a review of anatomy and physiology, puncture techniques, safety precautions for blood-borne pathogens, material preparations, site selection, and maintenance of a central or peripheral line catheter, with special considerations on concepts about the complications, management and effective infusion techniques. Practical demonstrations of techniques for IV insertion would be done through the use of an artificial hand to mimic actual setting. The participants will be evaluated using a multiple choice written examination with a passing rate of 80%.
The course will present the new evidence based practice 2010 guidelines incorporated with an innovative teaching methodology. Participants will be able to enhance their knowledge and skills in performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with the integration of efficient team efforts, communication, and the accurate drug usage for cardiopulmonary emergencies. This also includes a comprehensive lecture and a didactic training session which would help the participants understand and apply the concepts learned, using a state-of-the-art training model. Participants will be tested via multiple choice exams with a passing mark of above 84% and demonstrations of the skills learned.
This course will provide fundamental knowledge of immunology as well as some advanced concepts of cutting-edge research result. it aims to facilitate and enhance understanding on the current infection control strategies and procedures in addition to vaccination management.
